Founded in 2018, Drep.Afrique is an association of general interest whose purpose is to inform and act against sickle-cell anaemia. Its aim is to take action and initiate concrete projects to prevent, detect, treat and increase the life expectancy of people affected by sickle cell anaemia, where this disease strikes the hardest, mainly on the African continent.

Scientific Council
The Scientific Council of Drep.Afrique is made up of recognized specialists in sickle cell disease in Africa and France: doctors, researchers but also pharmacists and nurses. All of them are, of course, volunteers.
Coordinated by Dr Jean-Benoît Arlet, its role is to suggest the priority axes for rapid and concrete action against this disease in Africa and to ensure follow-up.
The board will make decisions on all matters related to the scientific part of the two flagship actions of the project : the training of doctors, caregivers, other health professionals and families, and access to essential drugs for disease control.

Honorary Committee
The Drep.Afrique Honorary Committee is composed of prestigious personalities from the world of arts, sciences, culture and sport who support the action undertaken by our association to better publicize, treat and reverse the scourge of sickle cell disease, particularly in Africa where millions of children are affected.
